Our Experience Design studio is dedicated to helping businesses meet the needs of the people they serve through a human-centered approach. By investigating their users’ needs, goals, and behaviors, we uncover key opportunities for enhancing our clients' processes, services, or products. We are seeking creative thinkers who can lead projects, command a room, and assist our clients in solving complex business challenges.

As a Senior Researcher, you will play a pivotal role in leading all research aspects of client engagement. This includes gathering user requirements, analyzing and synthesizing research data, communicating findings to clients, and translating insights into tactical and strategic design and process outputs. You will head research initiatives, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, and champion human-centric design principles. Your work will directly contribute to the creation of intuitive, delightful, and effective product and process experiences.

Job Responsibilities

Research Planning and Execution: Quickly learn and understand our clients’ businesses and their needs. Lead all field research tasks, including behavior observation, contextual inquiries, interactive workshops, usability testing, and competitive assessments, with minimal oversight.

Synthesis and Analysis: Utilize quantitative and qualitative analytical methods to parse and strategically organize research data. Communicate results as strategic and actionable insights that inform design ideas and business strategies.

Design Output: Craft visuals like recommendation slide decks, infographics, service blueprints, process maps, information architecture diagrams, and wireframes that clearly and effectively communicate ideas.

Multitasking: Demonstrate excellent time management skills, working across multiple projects simultaneously to deliver high-quality work on time.

Consultation & Strategy: Develop strong relationships with clients to manage expectations and identify opportunities for future work.

Travel: Willingness to work a minimum of 1-2 days at Nimbl’s HQ and a minimum of 1 day at a local Philadelphia client site.

Experience and Skills

Education: Advanced degree (or equivalent experience) in UI/UX or interaction design, human-computer interaction, anthropology, psychology, business administration, or a related field. (Note: We are open to candidates with relevant experience outside these areas if applicable to the role.)

Work Experience: 4-7 years in a relevant role in experience research, UX design, business design, or a related field.

Human-Centered Design Expertise: A firm grasp of human-centered design principles and methods.

Tools: Efficiency in using the Microsoft Office Suite, Figma or Miro, UX research platforms, and Adobe Creative Cloud, but more importantly, a willingness and ability to quickly learn and master new tools.

If you are a dynamic and experienced Senior Researcher who can lead projects, collaborate with clients and cross-functional teams, and translate research findings into actionable insights to solve complex business challenges, we invite you to apply and join our passionate team at Nimbl's Experience Design studio.
